About the Data

How We Built the Dashboard

This dashboard combines publicly available data with local research, planning documents, community knowledge, and observations from Pellere Foundation’s work in Venango County. Together, these sources help provide context for what everyday life looks like beyond any single statistic.

How to Read the Indicators

Each indicator looks at several supporting signals rather than relying on one number alone. These signals are considered together to provide a practical assessment of current conditions.

  • Good — Conditions generally support comfort, stability, or access for residents.
  • Okay — Conditions are generally workable, but there are noticeable limitations, uneven access, or tradeoffs.
  • Needs Attention — Conditions show persistent challenges or barriers that meaningfully affect everyday life.

Where the Information Comes From

Sources include the U.S. Census Bureau and American Community Survey, federal and state agencies, Venango County and municipal planning resources, local organizations, publicly available community information, and Pellere Foundation research and community engagement.

What This Dashboard Doesn't Do

The dashboard is not a ranking, comprehensive community assessment, or comparison between towns. Countywide data may not reflect every neighborhood or individual experience, and conditions can change over time. Ratings reflect a combination of available evidence and local context. They are intended to support conversation and identify patterns—not provide a definitive judgment about a community.
